Terence sent me the link. It was a live performance on 'Late Night with David Letterman', taken back in the era where, you know what they'd like to say, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, the police wore shorts and Michael Stipe still had hair.

I love this clip which they did on Sesame Street. I used to have this before my hard disk crashed. Here's one which REM with Thom Yorke replacing Patti Smith on 'E-Bow The Letter'.
